The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made a significant announcement by revealing its list of candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in seven states. Notable figures include Sudhanshu Trivedi and RPN Singh from Uttar Pradesh, along with former Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala. With a total of 14 candidates announced, this move showcases the party’s strategic preparations and ambitions for representation in the upper house of parliament.
In a press release from New Delhi, the BJP disclosed its nominees for the Rajya Sabha polls, covering Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. From Uttar Pradesh, the party presented seven candidates, including RPN Singh, Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, and others. Additionally, Bihar will see two BJP candidates, while Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal each have one BJP nominee.
The elections for a total of 56 Rajya Sabha seats are scheduled for February 27 across 15 states, as announced earlier by the Election Commission of India.
