Delay in conducting exams, salary of Vice-Chancellor, Registrar & CoE withheld by Edu. Dept.

Delay in conducting exams resulted in withholding the salary of Vice-Chancellor, Registrar & CoE by education department.  The salary and account transactions of the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Controller of Examinations of Veer Kunwar Singh University located in Arrah, Bihar have been stopped until further orders.  This stern action is initiated by the state education department in the interest of the student community.    To discipline the system and correct the lackadaisical behaviour of the top officials of the university not only their salaries are withheld but all transactions have been stopped in university accounts by Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh, Deputy Director of Education Department, and the Bhojpur District Education Officer (DEO) Mr. Ahsan.

Such an unprecedented tough stand of the education department is seen nationwide as a severe blow to the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi, Incharge Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Ranvijay Kumar and Controller of Examinations (CoE) Prof. (Dr.) Anwar Imam.  This disciplinary action is intended to streamline the functioning of the top officials of the VKSU but instantly it may affect the students as the university may face difficulties in purchasing material required for the ensuing post-graduation examination.  Although temporary, but this non-availability of funds will also affect other routine activities of the university.

Cause of Action? Failure to attend meeting

It seems misunderstandings are escalating the friction between the state education department and the university administration.  To discuss the critical issue of delay in examinations and to find a solution a meeting was convened by the state authorities but the Vice Chancellor Prof. Shailendra Kumar Chaturvedi, Registrar Prof. Ranvijay Kumar, and Controller of Examinations Dr. Anwar Imam failed to attend.  Explanation for not attending the meeting has been sought from the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Controller of Examinations.
