Srinagar, Sep 29: The Kashmiri Displaced People (KDP) Wing of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), led by President Sanjay Dhar and Chairman Sh. Piaray Lal Pandita, has called for the immediate regularization of the water supply scheme in the TRT Migrant Camps of Nagrota and Purkhoo.

In a joint statement, the leaders appealed to the Relief Commissioner for Migrants to address the longstanding issues of residents who continue to suffer due to the acute shortage of clean, hygienic water.

The KDP Wing expressed disappointment over the neglect faced by the small population of the camp, urging the Jal Shakti Department to replace the inadequate water supply arrangements.  The leaders welcomed the recent efforts to resolve the water supply issues in the Jagti Camp and expressed optimism that similar steps would be taken for the residents of TRT Nagrota and Purkhoo.

Additionally, the KDP leaders emphasized the need for urgent repairs to the camp’s infrastructure, including raising boundary walls to ensure security and carrying out renovations and whitewashing of buildings. They called for a joint inspection with the relevant authorities to address these issues, urging swift action on all fronts.

In their concluding remarks, the KDP leaders expressed gratitude to the TRT Camp representatives for entrusting them to voice their concerns. They further appealed to the Principal Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department to expedite the process of ensuring regular water supply under the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ initiative, in alignment with the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
