Ministry of Food Processing Industries to channelize investments in food processing sub-segments through ‘World Food India 2024’ which, is scheduled at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 19-22nd September 2024.

In an attempt to explore the potentials of food processing sector and show case India as the food basket of the world, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Development of North Eastern region, Ministry of Ayush, ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Fisheries Government of India, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises will be jointly organizing this mega event.

With the objective of attracting investments in the diverse food processing sector of the country and introducing the world to the rich Indian food culture the Ministry of Food Processing Industries launched the first edition of World Food India in 2017.  This year World Food India 2024, is all set to ensure backward linkages, food processing equipment, processing related R & D, cold chain storage solutions, start-ups, logistic and retail chains.

Roping in four states Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat the event will be mainly focusing on states like Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, and Odisha.

The other government departments which are associated with this event are Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Coconut Development Board, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Spice Board of India under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Government of India, Tea Board India, and Coffee Board India.

‘World Food India 2024’ will be showcasing opportunities through state and union territory, country, and ministry pavilions.  Specialized zones for pet food alcoholic beverages, post-harvest machinery and product wise pavilions.

Deliberations of knowledge sessions through conferences attended by experts would showcase opportunities of growth and identify emerging trends.  Round table conferences with key policy makers and regulators in the government will be another feature of the event.  B2B B2G G2G meetings investment and trade facilitation, bilateral discussions B2B discussion amongst participating global and local entrepreneurs would boost the business.

The event will offer opportunities for fusion with global cuisines.

Exclusively curated food experiencing arena will showcase Indian products and ingredients.  The event will also bring forth technology solutions and new innovations for challenges faced by Indian food processing ecosystem.  Break through advancements made by startups, innovators, micro entrepreneurs, etc. will be awarded in recognition of their contribution.

Industry players like Nestle, Hindustan Unilever limited, Amul BL Agro, Britannia, Fair Exports India Pvt. Ltd., Tata Consumer Products, Tetra Pack, Coca-Cola, Adani Wilmar, Mondelez, Orkla India, Pepsico, Haldiram’s, Kenvue, Marico, Sujata, Big Basket are partnering the event.  National Event Partner is the Federation of Indian chambers of Commerce and industry (FICCI).

This event will cater to the need of Food startups and innovators, ingredient manufacturers, equipment’s manufacturers and solution providers, investors private equity firms and venture capitalists, financial institutions, Academia and research institutes, food processing and manufacturing companies, exporters and importers of food products, food packaging cold chain and logistics company, trade and media partners, government representatives and delegates, foreign mission abroad and embassies.

Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM)

At the ‘World Food India 2024’ business networking opportunity would gain momentum through the Reverse Buyer Seller Meet planned by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI).  The RBSM’s seamless collaboration will converge the Commodity boards into a platform offering an array of advantages, including enhanced market access, interactions with potential partners, exposure to new products and innovations, insightful discussions on industry trends, and the creation of valuable B2B connections.
